Celebrating 5 Years of Making Mother’s Day Magical: How You Can Help
Five years ago, The Jewelry Box of Lake Forest team had an idea. We would collect beauty and toiletry items here in the store, and use them to create Beauty Bags. South County Outreach would distribute these bags to local Moms in need just in time for Mother’s Day. Life’s little luxuries can really put a smile on your face when times are tough. Our friends and customers came through, helping us make it happen, and the initiative has been a big success. Last year, we were able to donate over 300 Mother’s Day Beauty Bags. This year, we hope to top that total. Here’s how you can help:Please bring new, unopened toiletry items to The Jewelry Box of Lake Forest, which is located at 21771 Lake Forest Drive, in Lake Forest. A wide variety of self-care items are welcome, including hotel shampoos, conditioners, and lotions; makeup and skin care samples, travel size toothpaste, mouthwash, and other toiletries, deodorant, nail clippers, bubble bath, bath sprays and more. There’s a donation bin inside our Lake Forest jewelry store, and we’ll be collecting items until Tuesday, May 2nd.To say “Thank You!” for your kindness and generosity, we are giving anyone who makes a donation 10% off jewelry & watch repairs.

What We’ve Learned in 5 Years of Creating Mother’s Day Beauty Bags

When we started the Mother’s Day Beauty Bag program, we had no idea that this would become one of our customers’ favorite ways to help the community. Several of our customers make a point of collecting items throughout the year, taking advantage of sales to ‘stock up’ so they can bring in a bag full of toiletries when the time rolls around. One lady told us every time she purchases an item for herself, she buys the same thing for the Beauty Bags. We all know how looking our best can make us feel great. Sharing that experience with someone else is the purest form of generosity.Thank you for being part of the Mother’s Day Beauty Bag campaign. All Beauty Bags are distributed right here in Orange County, which means you’re making a real positive difference in your community.
