We Want to Help 50 Kids – Can You Give Us a Hand?

Back to school season is right around the corner. To succeed academically, children need to have the right supplies – things like notebooks, index cards, highlighters, calculators and pencils – as well as a backpack to carry everything in.

The Jewelry Box of Lake Forest team has set a goal: we want to help at least 50 kids start school totally prepared for success.

We’re hoping you can help us make it happen.

The need is real. More than 100,000 children in Orange County are affected by poverty every day. When family finances are tight, the money just isn’t there to get children the things they need to thrive in school. Getting supplies into the hands of children who need them makes a real difference. Being prepared helps children feel like they belong and can be successful in the classroom.

Donate a Backpack & Save 20% on Your Next Jewelry Repair

We’re working with South County Outreach on this project. They handle making sure the backpacks and supplies get to local children in need; The Jewelry Box of Lake Forest is serving as a donation collection site. Our goal is to collect 50 backpacks and as many school supplies as we can. Working together we can put some big smiles on a lot of faces!

We’ll be collecting new backpacks and school supplies at our Lake Forest location between July 29th to August 26th. To get an idea of what kind of supplies are most useful locally, find your school district on this site. We are collecting school supplies for elementary, middle and high school students. Binders, notebooks, pens, pencils, highlighters, index cards, pencil boxes, and calculators are always needed! The kids you’re helping attend school in the Saddleback Valley Unified School District, which includes 24 elementary schools, 5 middle schools and 7 high schools.

To say thank you, we’re giving anyone who donates a new unused backpack 20% off their next Orange County jewelry repair. All other school supply donations will receive a 10% savings on their next jewelry repair. If you’ve had a piece of jewelry you haven’t been able to wear because it has a broken clasp or is bent out of shape, now’s your chance to get it fixed while helping local kids. Every donation helps, and is very welcome.
